Are you tired of counting the 90 days every time you visit Spain and wishing you could stay longer?

Would you like to move to Spain while continuing to work remotely for your foreign company or clients?

The Spanish Digital Nomad Visa could be an excellent solution. It allows you to legally relocate without giving up your current career, offering a seamless bridge between your professional life and an incredible Mediterranean lifestyle.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Spanish Digital Nomad Visa, you generally need to meet the following requirements:

• Non-EU nationality: You must be a non-EU national and be legally entitled to enter and reside in Spain.
• Remote work: Your professional activity must be capable of being carried out remotely using a computer or other telecommunications systems.
• Foreign employment or clients: Employees must work for a company established outside Spain. Freelancers may work with Spanish clients, provided this does not exceed 20% of their total professional activity.
• Professional background: You must normally provide evidence of an appropriate degree or professional qualification, or sufficient relevant professional experience.
• Existing professional relationship: Employees must generally demonstrate a prior working relationship with the foreign company, which must have been operating for at least one year.
Sufficient income: You must demonstrate sufficient and regular financial resources, calculated by reference to the Spanish minimum wage.
• Insurance and Contributions: Depending on your circumstances and country of origin, appropriate health coverage and/or Spanish Social Security registration may be required.

Apply from Abroad or Directly from Spain

One of the advantages of the Digital Nomad scheme is its flexibility.

You can apply through the Spanish Consulate in your country of residence, or, if you are already legally present in Spain, you may be able to apply directly to the Large Companies and Strategic Groups Unit (UGE).
The route you choose is important. An application through a Spanish Consulate normally leads to a one-year visa, while a successful residence application made from within Spain can grant a residence permit for up to three years.

And What About Tax?

For many digital nomads, taxation is one of the most important considerations when deciding whether to relocate to Spain.

Depending on your personal and professional circumstances, you may be eligible for Spain’s special tax regime for inbound workers, commonly known as the Beckham Law.

This regime can offer significant tax advantages, including a special tax treatment of employment income. However, eligibility is not automatic and should always be assessed individually before relocating to Spain.

At Andalucía Lawyers, we can review your particular circumstances and explain both the immigration and tax implications before you make your decision.

Why Choose Andalusia?

If you can work from anywhere, Andalusia is difficult to beat. Malaga, Granada and Seville, together with the Costa del Sol and many smaller coastal and rural locations, combine excellent internet connectivity and modern infrastructure with sunshine, culture, international communities and an exceptional quality of life.

And compared with many other major European destinations, the cost of living can remain highly competitive.

Ready to Make Spain Your Home?

The Spanish Digital Nomad Visa can allow you to live in Spain, continue your international career and enjoy the freedom of travelling throughout the Schengen Area.

At Andalucía Lawyers, we can assess your eligibility, prepare your application and guide you through the entire process, from the initial documentation to obtaining your Spanish residence permit.
